For the third year running the London Freemasons events team assisted by masonic biker members of the Coborn and Widows Sons Iceni Chapters manned the Freemasons recruitment stand at the recent Docklands Excel’s MCN Bike Show. As in previous years one of the masonic bikers displayed his awesome machine, all in support of the link between many forms of sport and freemasonry.
Masonic Biker Michael Kushin Vice President of Iceni Chapter said “Our attendance goes to show dispels the myth that Freemasonry is not all about ritual and masonic regalia. The Freemasons events stand introduces Freemasonry to members of the public from all walks of life and answers many questions about Freemasonry including questions from the ladies about the two Female masonic grand lodges”.
Michael added “Attendance at exhibitions such as this shows the public that Freemasonry has nothing to hide. The Widows Sons Masonic Bikers Association are a group of Freemasons from around the country that happen to have a passion for riding motorcycles and the high ideals of Freemasonry. Since 2004 the connection has grown there are now twelve Chapters around the county with more being formed.
President of the Widows Sons Iceni Chapter Martin Cargill added “The Widows Sons is quite simply a Masonic motorcycle-riding club regardless of what brand of motorcycle you ride, over 400 cc or a classic bike, as long as you are a Freemason you are welcome to join us. None bike riding Freemasons are welcome as associate members. Our aims and objectives are simply to Introduce the sport of motorcycling to Freemasons, raise awareness of Freemasonry in the world of motorcycling and provide essential support to local charities. Iceni are visiting Scotland, Holland and Ireland this year for masonic biking meet ups, Ireland is the 2018 WSMBA annual rally which is held in different locations each year. Met GL’s WSMBA is Iceni Chapter.
The Widows Sons Masonic Bikers Association (WSMBA), they are a group of Freemasons within Great Britain that happen to have a passion for riding motorcycles and hold with the idea of universal brotherhood. The WSMBA was formed in 2004 and has since grown to 13 established Chapters located all around the county with more chapters in the process of being formed. They are recognised by UGLE and each individual Province of the relevant Chapter. The word “Chapter” is commonly used by Masonic Biker groups defining a particular area – nothing more.
The Widows Sons is quite simply a motorcycle-riding club. They are a non-brand specific riding Association so no matter what brand of motorcycle you ride over 400 cc or a classic bike, as long as you are a Master Mason, in good standing, you are welcome as a member, non-Master Masons are also welcome as associate members
